Focaccia

Fluffy, airy, salty – that’ s how I would describe this focaccia. One for you to enjoy and share with your loved ones:

Preparation Time: 30 minutes
Rest Time: 2hr 30mins

Ingredients:

  • 500gr flour
  • 450ml water
  • 10gr sugar
  • 10gr salt
  • 7gr instant yeast
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

To top it:

  • Rosemary
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Olive Oil

Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl mix the water, yeast, olive oil, salt & sugar. Then proceed to add the the flour and mix well. Cover the bowl and let the dough rest for 15-20mins.
Stretch and fold the dough 3 times every 10 minute (so about 20 mins).

Step 2: Proofing Time

Move the dough in a well-oiled baking dish and let it rest for about 2 hours or until doubled.
Once the dough has doubled, add some more olive oil on top and start dimpling the dough with your fingers. You can scatter some rosemary on top as well as flaky salt. Cut some cherry tomatoes in half and add these on top too.

Step 3: Baking Time

Bake the focaccia in a pre-heated oven at 200C with fan for about 30 mins or until golden. Let it rest and cool before cutting into.

The most difficult part about making this focaccia is resisting digging into it straight out of the oven!
